Bachelor of Pharmacy in Honours
Bachelor of Pharmacy in Honours Students can qualify for the 'in-course' honours at the conclusion of the four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy course. It is awarded in one of the grades of HI, HIIA or HIIB, where the weighted aggregate of the marks they obtain in all units attempted reaches minimum levels of achievement determined by the faculty board of examiners. Students are not required to apply for the award and should note that the third year elective and the placement unit are not included in calculations.
Bachelor of Pharmacy with honours award
The Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with honours is awarded for meritorious performance in the four years of the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. Units which have a numerical mark are considered in the determination of an honours result, with the exception of the third year elective unit. PAC4371 Professional experience placement program is also not included in the calculation as it does not have a numerical mark. Award level is calculated on the basis of a weighted average grade.
The weighted grade ranges are as follows: H1: 80 per cent < 100 per cent, H2A: 75 per cent < 79 per cent, H2B: 70 per cent < 74 per cent
Bachelor of Pharmacy in Honours Eligibility
Candidates must have passed the requisite Qualifying Examination, which is the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination of Ministry of Education, UAE or Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE-12th grade), New Delhi, India, or its equivalent from any recognized State, National or International board with Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
Further the candidates must have obtained a minimum 60% overall aggregate* of marks in the qualifying examination and must have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects. If instead of marks any letter grades or GPA are awarded (or any other form of evaluation), their equivalences in marks will be decided by the Admissions Committee.
Since English is the medium of instruction, good proficiency in English is essential for admission. Hence, candidates who have completed their qualifying examination from Non-English medium schools must have secured a TOEFL Score of 500 in paper based test or 61 in internet based test or have an IELTS Score of 5. If necessary, they will also be assessed by a committee for English comprehension.
