D.M. Hematology or Doctorate in Medicine in Hematology is a postdoctoral Hematology medicinal course. Hematology is the branch comprising of biology physiology, internal medicine, pathology, clinical laboratory work, and pediatrics that is concerned with the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases. The program designed in this way that it gives the resident comprehensive training in clinical and laboratory hematology, to enable them to follow a subsequent career pathway in either academic or community hematology. Doctorate in Medicine in Hematology is three years duration course.

D.M. Hematology Eligibility

  • For D.M. Clinical Hematology: Possession of M.D. in general medicine or pediatrics from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India.
  • General and sponsored seats are also for these courses. Admission is made through an entrance examination conducted by AIIMS twice annually. The number of seats offered varies from time to time and is mentioned in the AIIMS prospectus. Candidates applying for sponsored seats have to forward their application through their sponsoring authorities.
