Doctor of Medicine in Pathology or M.D. Pathology is a three year post graduate programe. Pathology is the study and diagnosis of disease through examination of organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and whole bodies (autopsies). Areas of study include cellular adaptation to injury, necrosis, inflammation, wound healing, and neoplasia. Course helps the candidates to be able to perform procedures designated for laboratory detection of diseases. Should be able to process and accurately interpret the representative materials obtained from the patients in order to arrive at a correct diagnosis. Course deals with effects, development, processes and causes of diseases. Subjects studied under this degree are Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Medical Genetics and Neuroscience.
