Dr. D.Y.Patil All India Common Entrance Test (AICET 2014) is an entrance test for admission to bachelor medical and dental courses MBBS and BDS in Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College & Hospital and D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital of D.Y. Patil University. AICET is conducted every year by Dr. D.Y.Patil University. A large number of students from all over India interested in doing MBBS and BDS apply for Dr. DY Patil AICET every year and the competition is really tough.

DY Patil Medical College & Hospital was established in 1996 and is approved by Medical Council of India and Government of Maharashtra. DY Patil Medical College has 150 seats for MBBS course. Dr. DY Patil Dental College has 100 seats for BDS course and is approved by Dental Council of India. Both the colleges has very good facilties and infrastructure as well as highly experienced and skilled faculty.

Eligibility crieteria

Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ orthopaedic Physically Handicapped candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English or whose results of Class – XII are likely to be declared are eligible to apply.

Candidates aspiring to appear in this Medical Entrance Test should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S.

Exam pattern

Examination Pattern for AICET BDS

  • The duration of AICET BDS exam is 3 hours.
  • AICET BDS question paper consists of 200 multiple choice questions.
  • Candidates are awarded one mark for each correct answer.
  • There is no negative marking scheme for wrong answers.
  • Medium of the test is generally English and Hindi.

Candidates can follow any of the following procedure to apply for Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute All-India Common Entrance Exam

Get the appliction form from the University office on payment of Rs.500 (for Super-Speciality Programmes Rs.1000) in cash or DD OR

By Post through a requisition letter with the name of course, opted for, detailed correspondence address with contact no. and email address, along with a demand draft of Rs.600 (for super-speciality programmes Rs.1100) drawn on any nationalized bank, in favour of "Registrar, Dr. D.Y Patil Vidyapeeth Payable at Pune. OR

By downloading from the university Website.(The downloaded form shall be submitted along with a demand draft covering Form Fee + Test Fee +Postage Rs.100).Fees Should not be sent by money order

Admission procedure

The admissions to BDS shall be done on the basis of merit as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in All India Common Entrance Test - AICET 2013 and their respective preference(s) given in the Application Form.

Course-wise Intake Capacity and Distribution of Seats :

*NRI – Non Resident Indian; PIO – Person of Indian Origin: FN Foreign National. Reservation of seats may be introduced in accordance with directives of the Government of India for Universities established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, if such directives are issued subsequent to the publication of this brochure.

Procedure and Definitions

General Category : Admissions under this category shall be made on the basis of inter-se merit of the candidates qualified at AICET 2013.

NRI / PIO / FN Category : Candidate under this category is not required to appear for AICET 2013.

Admissions will be made on the basis of inter-se merit as determined by admission committee appointed for the purpose by the competent authority.
