Karnataka Examinations Authority 2014(KEA Karnataka CET)
The Karnataka CET (KEA CET) examination, since 1984, has been conducted every year by the Government of Karnataka for admission in the KEA CET Medical Colleges of this state. The admission process through the KCET is not only open for medical courses but several other courses which include Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Yoga, Naturopathy and Architecture.Currently there are 31 Medical, 37 Dental, 39 Ayurveda, 11 Homoeopathy, 4 Unani and 3 Naturopathy colleges in Karnataka which consider KEA CET.
These eligibilities are required if any aspirants belongs from biology stream and preparaing for medical/dental courses through Karnataka Common Entrance Test. KCET eligibilities for medical/dental courses are as follows..
If you are interested to take admission in KEA CET first year of Medical / Dental courses, you have to pass the Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. It is also required that English must be there as one of the languages of study.
You have to obtain a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test (CET).
If the candidate belongs to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for eligibility requirement will be 40% for the KEA CET.
If you are interested to join in the Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses then also you are required to fulfill the same criteria, mentioned above. Even the candidates belonging to Scheduled class, Scheduled tribe or any other backward class, then also he has to fulfill the same criteria, already been laid down.
For the purpose of taking admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy and Yoga courses, the candidate must have completed the age of 17 years.
The pattern of the test is objective, with 120 questions from physics and Chemistry and 60 questions from Mathematics and/or 60 questions from biologydepending on the choice made by the students.
The test comprises of two parts first part is a combined paper of physics and chemistry with hundred fifty minute duration and second part is Mathematics with sixty questions to be answered in eighty minutes followed by sixty questions of Biology to be answered ineighty minutes for the MBBS/BDS aspirants.
Each question carries one mark and there is no negative evaluation for wrong answers.
The KCET application forms are distributed in the months of October and November. Almost all the leading dailies of India carry advertisement notification of the forms.
Students who are eligible for appearing in the Karnataka CET exams and completed 12th std residing outside the Karnataka state within the territory of India, can procure the prospectus which contains the application form by SPEED POST.
By sending the demand draft of Rs 750/- in favor of The EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF KARNATAKA EXAMINATION AUTHORITY, BANGALORE, in a self addressed cloth-lined envelope of 25cmX30cm.
Candidates outside India wants to appear in the admission, they have to send demand draft of Rs 5000/- the content on the envelope should be either in English of kannada language, and on the envelope boldly super scribed REQUEST FOR CET-2014 BROCHURE.
Application Form will be Supplied through the Schools / Colleges located within Karnataka : 8th March 2014.
Last Date for receipt of Application Fron : 5th April 2014.

Physics : 2nd May 2014 ( Friday 10.30am - 11.50am )
Chemistry : 2nd May 2014 (Friday 02.30pm - 03.50pm )

For Horanadu And Gadinadu Kannadia Candidates : 3rd May 2013 (11.30am - 12.30pm)
A candidate must appear for common entrance test conducted by KEA, for physics, chemistry and biology, if he wants admission in Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga.
A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline.
Applications are available in every participating institute of Karnataka Common Entrance Test.
